Blue Lotus, a plant-based resort in Thailand

Take us back, please! 1,5 year ago we stayed at Blue Lotus Hua Hin in Thailand. A tranquil, plant-based paradise! We’d chosen this resort, because it’s vegan friendly. Since we've adopted a vegan lifestyle, we carefully select were we go to make sure we can enjoy a carefree vacation or citytrip.

The location

We stayed at Blue Lotus Hua Hin for a week. The resort has a spacious set-up and offers rooms and villas with a private pool. There are tennis courts, a fitness room, spa and swimming pool. And you can join excursions to nearby national parks and offsite activities as kite surfing and golfing. Kieng Sah, one of the restaurants on site, features authentic Thai cuisine. The Bar, adjacent to the central pool, serves casual meals and snacks. And The Restaurant offers an international buffet breakfast. Longing for a different cuisine? You can have pizza and other Italian dishes at Coast restaurant. All have plant-based dishes to choose from. These dishes are provided by the plant-based Blue Lotus learning center and are cooked with seasonal products of Thailand as well as many ingredients grown on site at their garden.

Reasons to go

Besides the tranquil ambiance, the Blue Lotus learning center gave us that little push that made us decide to go to Blue Lotus. On top of enjoying their delicious food in the restaurants we attended their vegan Thai cooking class and learned to make rainbow springrolls and vegan Pad Thai.

Besides the 3-hour workshop that we did, the plant-based learning center has developed an educational program, which offers certified week-long classes in plant-based cuisine and customized programs and special masterclasses from visiting chefs.

How to get there

Blue Lotus is located 25kms south of Hua Hin in the district of Pranburi, on the western coast of the Gulf of Thailand. It's a 3 hour drive from Bangkok, Suvarnabhumi International airport. Most convenient is a private car transfer from Bangkok to the resort, which can be arranged on the airport or by the hotel.
